it’s so worth it

despite the guilt, I did not get my run in yesterday. Firstly around lunch time it looked like it might rain. Then it did rain. And rain. So prompted by Matt Galloway’s voice at 5.30am today (radio alarm), I hauled myself out of bed and headed for the gym. Early morning exercise has to be one of the most contrasting emotional experiences ranging from total despair when the alarm clock sounds to complete jubilation once it’s all completed. I have to say I feel so energetic today and am delighted to have knocked 10km off this weeks total (61km). Hooray. 3 weeks and 5 days to go.

About alirunner

Officially: Wellness Manager at UHN; background - Physiotherapy (what a portable profession that turned out to be!). Outside of work I'm a student (part-time U of T), mom of 2 teenagers (super, super scary) and wanna-be marathon runner with a first marathon goal date of October 16, 2011. Likes: FOOD, food and food (the real reason that I run), getting outdoors, seeing new places, G n T's and newly discovered carb-loaded gel packs that enable one to keep on running...What else? Arrived from UK 20 years ago to work in Canada for a year and still not visited Italy.
