I Get By With A Little Help From My Friends
This week, the greatest gift was a determined friend. When you have someone that’s in the same position as you, a friendly competition, whether you’re in the same city and attend the same functions or whether you just talk online or text using your smart phones, having someone there to talk to about your fitness and health journey can sometimes be the best thing to keep you on track!
This week, my good friend and I have decided to make weight loss and exercise more of a competition this week. The one to exercise more, and to stay within our Weight Watchers points doesn’t have to pay for a day at the gym! A rewarding victory that pushes us closer to our goals! Even if we did have a bad week, and went over our points the day at the gym is a way to get us back on track.
Small, simple games and ideas like this don’t leave us feeling discouraged, but rather motivate us to do what’s best for us! When your friend helps push you along the way and you both can encourage each other to do well, weight loss can be fun! Watch out for friends that hold you back or make you feel slow though! You may want to find a friend or colleague that is on the same page as you, and doesnt make you feel left behind, or bad about the pace you decide to lose weight at. Be picky with your “buddy system” and just have fun!
Here are some other fun ways to stay on track:
- Keep a journal of how you feel and what you eat
- Join a fitness group, or a gym to keep you away from the fridge!
- Take up a new hobby at night to keep your hands busy!
- Keep your goals a secret! You can have fun and feel mischievious!
