This competition will help kick off Recognition Day on May 4th, as well as UHN’s Third Annual “Recognition Lunch” with CEO Dr. Bob Bell on May 7th. The purpose of this event is to remind staff about how important it is to recognize one another’s everyday efforts, as well as promote the Recognition in Action program. The main objective of Recognition in Action is to foster a culture of recognition across the organization by sharing inspirational stories. These stories – posted online – are a great way to create role models across the organization. For Recognizing YoU(HN), we are asking staff to create teams of 3 or more individuals and submit a photograph and brief story of their team’s Recognition in Action activity. Here are some further details:
What: In teams of 3 or more, do something positive to recognize another employee or unit’s work performance. Be on the lookout for key UHN values: CARING, EXCELLENCE, TEAMWORK, INNOVATION, INTEGRITY, LEADERSHIP, and RESPECT. Has someone demonstrated exemplary patient-centred care? Surprise them with some homemade baked goods or a giant “Thank-You” card! Simply submit a photograph along with a brief explanation of your team’s Recognition in Action activity. (Your team must agree to your story and photograph being posted on the intranet).
