It’s well known that increasing your physical activity, decreasing stress, eating nutritiously and quitting smoking are some of the most fantastic ways to improve your quality of life and overall health.  An interesting article in BBC News (2012) discusses a mass movement and media campaign called Stobtober.  During October, smokers in England are encouraged to join the movement and quit smoking for 28 days.  Participants who effectively complete this challenge are said to be five times more likely to stay successful!

Although this campaign is not offered in Canada, there are many free online tools to help smokers.  A few useful resources include; Smokers Helpline, Health Canada and The Lung Association
